Mountain Book Company was formed in December, 2005 to serve as a sort of "virtual wholesaler " for selected small publishers. It intended to provide book stores and libraries with a single source for electronically ordering these publishers' titles without adding several new vendors to their purchasing database.

Alas, PUBNET did not work very well for us. The system, owned by Bowker, did not easily allow a small "virtual wholesaler" to correct errors in listings, the invoicing function never worked for us, and book stores declined to use it. Therefore, we have put our PUBNET account "on hold" at least temporarily. We suggest you order directly from the publishers listed. Perhaps at some point the technology will allow us to do what we envsisioned.
